About This Site

This site is designed for stamp collectors from around the world. We have Price Lists that should be of interest to all Worldwide and British Commonwealth Collectors. We do not, as a general rule, have any U.S.

Stamp Clubs

We encourage all stamp collectors to join and become active in their local stamp club. For this purpose we have designed a page to list any stamp club that is interested. If your stamp club would like to be listed, just send us details by e-mail. We will maintain a database, so that we can refer any enquirers to a club in their area.

STAMP SHOWS:

Because of the easy availability of philatelic material via the internet, stamp shows have suffered considerably. Hardest hit have been the club shows. 20-30 years ago most stamp shows were sponsered by stamp clubs, but most of the smaller clubs have been forced out of this avenue to reach new collectors. To help the clubs that still sponser shows, we will list their show on a special page at no cost to the club.

Our Other Hobby Our second favorite hobby (after stamps) is photography, especially taking pictures along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive in Virginia, and the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina. To see some of our favorite mountain photos, click here.

Universal Postal Union Founded in 1874 by Heinrich von Stephan of Prussia, this international organization coordinates the postal policies between member nations. The most popular stamps honoring the UPU were for the 75th Anniversary in 1949. To see the current membership list, click here.

Topicals There is no limit to the topics that can be found on stamps. Some favorites are animals, birds, butterflies, etc. But there are also topicals that relate to well-known personages in history such as Lord Baden-Powell, who founded the Boy Scouts. Whatever your interest may be, there are probably stamps that have been devoted to that area.

Share Your Hobby Get a youngster interested in stamp collecting. Let them share your enthusiasm in the hobby. Give your duplicates to a young collector. If you don't know anyone, then contact your local stamp club. Most clubs are very strong in attracting young people to the hobby, and will probably have a youth meeting as part of their regular club meeting.
